A right body posture is something that we should all take care of. Studies have shown that it effectively helps digestion, boosts overall health, enhances breathing, lowers stress, regulates hormonal balance and supports mental clarity.
On the other side, if you have bad body posture it can raise the risk of back pain, poor blood circulation, and tightness in the chest.
So, you should do everything that is possible and improve your posture, and hence soothe the pain and tension in the back, neck, and shoulders. Luckily we will show you how you can succeed in this in a simple way, only by exercising the muscles used in a natural, standing position.
There is a simple exercise that strengthens the muscles and provides amazing effects – it’s called the locust pose, or shalabhasana(in yoga). You should consult your doctor before this or any other similar exercise.
With the face downwards, and the forehead touching the floor in a lying position, you need to stretch both legs and spread them hip-width apart.
Divide the weight of the body equally on the tops of your feet. After that, raise the upper body as high as possible, keeping the head up. Then, inhale and elevate the head, and lift the hands as you exhale. Put the hands near the body, with the palms faced downhill.
In the next step just raise the legs using the thigh muscles, and concentrate the weight on the lower ribs, pelvis, and abdomen. Hold in this position for 10 to 60 seconds, and do it 5-10 times.
This effective exercise will improve your body posture, and strengthen the muscles of the legs, torso, and back.
